When you replace a die bonder, tooling is the cost that is not on the quotation
Equipment quotes compare easily. Tooling does not. A mature line accumulates collets, ejector pins, magazines and heater blocks across hundreds of part numbers — and an incompatible machine means rebuilding all of it.

±0.05° means ±12μm on a 20mm die: the rotation spec that gets overlooked
Datasheets list XY accuracy and rotation accuracy side by side, which suggests they are comparable. In practice rotation error is amplified into linear displacement at the die corners — and on a 20mm die, ±0.05° works out to ±12.3μm, more than twice the XY figure.

DAF thermo-compression versus epoxy die attach: what should decide it
An epoxy die bonder runs more than four times the UPH of a DAF thermo-compression bonder. The two are not substitutes — what decides between them is the attach material and the stacking scheme, not the throughput figure.

Die attach cycle time in panel-level packaging: how long does one 600×600mm panel take?
Smaller die mean more placements per panel. At a 3mm package pitch, a 600×600mm panel holds 40,000 sites — and UPH differences turn directly into hours of cycle time per panel, which sets how many die attach tools a line needs.
